The Golden Rules for Contributing to Dessert Professional
- Pretty much anything can be posted, brought up, and discussed -
as long as it's about The Art of Dessert.
- If you own a business you may promote it on your personal page
("My Page") after becoming a member. Please refrain from promoting
your business on other pages of this site (forum threads, blog
posts, and especially comments on others' My Pages), especially out
of context with the topic being discussed. This limitation is in
place to keep this site from becoming overwhelmed with content that
could make the site less useful to members.
- The best way to promote your business is to contribute to the
community:
• Contribute wisely and well; avoid being flippant and
superfluous.
• Create photo albums of your work filled with good
photography.
• Upload well-produced videos of your work.
- In other words, post content that you would like to read if you
were visiting another site - and don't post content that you
wouldn't want someone else to post on a site you owned and
managed.
- Sharing is the key part of what an online community like
Dessert Professional is all about. To see your blog and forum posts
appear on the Home Page and in the Latest Activity list (also on
the main page), update your privacy settings.
- The latest additions to the site are posted on the home page in
the Latest Activity section in the left-hand column. Please
consider other members when posting and try to refrain from having
your name appear more than three to four times on this list (there
are twelve activities listed).
- If you find yourself engaged in extended (private) discussions
with other members consider using private messages instead of
comments.
- RESPECT other members: Flaming of any sort is not appropriate.
Please refrain from posting defamatory or potentially libelous
comments.
