- The Anita Kaufmann Foundation (AKF) is a 501(c)3 public charity whose mission is to educate the public not to fear epilepsy and seizures. The unique educational programs we offer strive to eliminate stigma and increase awareness of the condition and its impact on families and entire communities. AKF is also the sole US Sponsor of Purple Day and a member of the Global Purple Day Planning Committee.
