Team Italy won the 2016 Gelato World Cup at Rimini Fiera´s SIGEP tradeshow (January 23-27, 2016). Spain placed second and Australia came in third. The thirteen competing teams tested their skill in creating a gelato cup with assorted flavors, a gelato cake, four types of chocolate petits fours with a maximum weight of 40 grams, three hot finger foods to be matched with a savory gelato chosen by each team, and an ice sculpture (featuring flowers, fruit, nuts, spices, and other edible ingredients).
